About All Luxury Hotel
About All Luxury Hotel
The honest guide to luxury hotels in America: every hotel earns its place.
All Luxury Hotel is an independent guide to luxury hotels in the United States. We are not a booking site and not a club. We publish short lists per destination, a plain verdict per hotel and a reason to skip it, so that a traveler about to spend real money on a room can decide in minutes instead of evenings.
Who we write for
People who book a luxury stay a few times a year, for a weekend, an anniversary or one bigger trip, and want to know whether the premium is justified. If you already book through a personal travel advisor, or you use "luxury" as a filter for a bargain, we are probably not the best source for you, and that is fine.
What makes this guide different
- The Luxury Standard. Published criteria decide which hotels qualify, and in which layer: Signature, Select, Hideaway or Stays. Read the criteria.
- One verdict per hotel. Worth every dollar, worth it for a specific purpose, or skip unless you want one particular thing.
- Skip it if. Every hotel on every list gets a concrete reason not to book it.
- Matched to the trip. Each hotel carries one Best for tag, from couples to work trips.
- Corrections in the open. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so on our corrections page.
What we do not do
We do not claim to have stayed at a hotel unless we have, and we do not run anonymous inspections. Our verdicts are editorial judgments made on checked facts: the hotel's own information, recognized awards, guest ratings with their review counts, and location. Hotels cannot pay to be included, ranked higher or described differently.
How we are paid
When you book through a Check availability link we may earn a commission from the booking platform, at no extra cost to you. It never affects which hotels we list or what we say about them. Full affiliate disclosure.
Where we are now
This edition covers 226 hotels across 14 destination guides, 4 state guides and 6 collections. More destinations, the Caribbean and our alternative stays (glamping, cabins and villas) are added as their research is finished. We would rather publish fewer pages than thin ones.
